Nonviolence

Commitment to NONVIOLENCE

As the Congregation of St. Joseph of Concordia, we commit ourselves to practice Gospel nonviolence as the contemporary expression of our consecration, we covenant with each other and the God of Peace to live our charism by creating a culture of peace in our hearts, in our community and in the world.

We strive in our daily lives to practice the nonviolence of Jesus and engage in ongoing formation in the principles and strategies of nonviolence in the context of the Gospel, our Constitution, primitive documents and contemporary realities. We adopt active nonviolence as the lens through which we make all of our decisions. [CSJ Senate of Nov. 2007]
